Ginny Winn, MFT

History

After early professional successes in dance, clothing design, rock and roll photography, and audio-visual production, I found myself in a mid-life quest, searching for new meaning, knowledge and growth.

In the early 80s, I discovered my passion for psychology while providing live-in care for a paranoid schizophrenic adolescent.  I was inspired to return to school and, by 1986, had completed a Masters in Psychology from Antioch University.  Continuing with 3000 hours of work under supervision, I received my Marriage Family Therapy license in 1991.

In 1993, I became an MFT Supervisor and, for the following 12 years, directed the Antioch University School-Based Counseling Program, supervising interns providing on-site therapy in K-12 schools.  Additionally, I worked for 9 years as an MFT Supervisor in School-Based Services for Vista Del Mar, and facilitated parenting groups in several K-12 Schools.  My passion for teaching parenting, motivated me to work toward an Adult Education Teaching Credential, which I received from LAUSD in 2008.

Now my focus returns to my private practice, striving to help individuals, couples and families reconnect through relationships – through healing their relationships to themselves, each other, their work, and the world around them.
